#1

If Hollywood A-listers are anything to go by, then this destination is at the very top of the ‘must be seen at’ list! Gwyneth Paltrow, Chelsea Handler and Hilary Duff all frequent this paradise. The island boasts more 5* resorts than we can possibly name in just one article, but rest assured there is bound to be at least one that suits even the pickiest of brides. With a Casino that could rival those in Las Vegas as well as more than 3,000 feet of pure white sandy beaches, Bahamian life is more than a little too easy to slip into. Crystal clear waters will wash away the worst of the bad hangovers while you sip a ‘hair of the dog’ cocktail, watching some of the most spectacular sunsets this beautiful world has to offer.

#2

Orlando, Florida

Orlando is one of the most visited states of the Untied States, and with the lure of Disney World and Harry Potter Land it is hardly surprising; but is it really a good location for a honeymoon? Hell yes! Butter beer and Mickey Mouse ears are not all that Orlando have to offer. As long as you make sure that you don’t clash with the Spring Break crowd over April, Orlando can be one of the most amazing places to spend a honeymoon with your honey! Try booking a villa in the Florida Keys for a few days or take that geek of yours to The Nasa Space Station for the day. After all, if the honeymoon goes to plan, the pitter patter of tiny feet will mean putting on hold ‘fun’ for a few years – so take full advantage now. Visit the pancake places and all-you-can-eat diners, because if kids are in the picture it may be a few years before you get to eat a full hot meal again!

#3
Location:
Phuket, Thailand
Best time to visit: Spring
Don’t forget to pack:

Let’s face it, since we all saw Leonardo DiCaprio strip and dive into the Crystal Clear waters during the film The Beach, Thailand has been a dream destination for almost every woman. With the rolling mountain landscapes and twinkling Andaman sea, Thailand offers a new site every day to take your breath away… just in case the site of your new husband/wife is not enough. With seclusion, beauty, relaxation and ideal locations for private dining, there couldn’t be a more romantic setting to start off your walk together into married life.

Julia Roberts got it right when she traveled to Bali to ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ her way out of heartache – but Bali is actually the perfect place to start a marriage as well as ‘find yourself’. If you are searching for the perfect ‘dreamy’ location, Bali is it. Incredible white sandy beaches, stunning natural beauty, relaxing ocean-side massages and the best cocktails in the world… what more could you ask for? Make sure you pack more than your fair share of relaxed floaty outfits, because this place will have you believing you could fit right into the hippie relaxed lifestyle.

#5

England, United Kingdom
Best time to visit: Summer
Don’t forget to pack:

Although England is only really a honeymoon destination that is desirable to those who live outside of Europe – I have to say even I understand why it’s made it onto the list. London is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, and with the increasing fascination with period dramas such as Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey, everyone wants to experience British culture at least once in their lifetime. Summer is really the only time we would advise to visit the beautiful British Isles – and even then, make sure you pack an umbrella just in case the weather is not as ‘summery’ as you would expect… it is an island after all. But don’t let the rain dampen your spirits – a cozy English pub and a warm pint of beer will be a memory you will treasure forever… I promise!

#6
Location:
Florence, Italy
Best time to visit: Summer
Don’t forget to pack:
An idiot’s guide to art

Despite what many think, Kimye did not ‘discover’ Florence. Florence has been around a lot longer than The Kardashians, but the wedding of the year did help boost the popularity of this amazing European gem. Italy represents everything that should be explored within a marriage… good food, warm and loving people and passion. The Italians have a passion for almost everything, from food, to art, fashion and of course wine. So if you want to start your marriage vowing to live ‘La Dolce Vita’ – Florence is the place to start

#7
Location:
Kenya, Africa
Best time to visit: Early Spring for the weather, or Late summer for the Wildebeest Migration
Don’t forget to pack:
Your Big Girl Pants

Africa offers some of the most exquisite landscapes, most breathtaking sunsets, and above all, allows you to see some of the world’s most endangered animals in their natural habitat (and no I am not talking about your new husband). With rolling plains, great lakes and vast wilderness, Africa is rich in wildlife ranging from big Cats to Elephants and Rhino. Wildlife Safari will have your new husband acting all protective, while dining under the stars surrounded by beautiful landscapes will see his softer, more romantic side emerge. This could be the perfect place to explore each other’s more vulnerable side at the beginning of your married life together.
