Celebrate Martini Day with The Glass House Girls

Martinis… be they shaken or stirred, there is no wrong way to drink a Martini. There are however many more variations than most of us will realise. So with that in mind, The Glass House Girls have put together a list of the very best Top 5 Martini recipes. So sit back and relax, and ask the barman to whip you up one of these fancy delights.

The Chocolate Martini

Ingredients:
1 ounce white crème de cacao
2 ounces of the very best Vodka
1 ounce chocolate liqueur (Godiva is the best, but Swiss chocolate liqueur is equally good)
Garnish:
chocolate straw

Method:
Place all ingredients into a shaker and shake vigorously.
Serve in a Martini glass and garnish with a delicate chocolate straw.
Add a little crushed ice if you prefer the drink chilled.

The Classic Martini or The 007

Ingredients
2 ounces Extra Dry Gin
½ ounce Dry Vermouth
Garnish:
olives

Method:
Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake well.
Serve chilled in a chilled Martini glass and add crushed to taste.
Top with a couple of olives and enjoy.

German Chocolate Martini

Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces Malibu coconut rum
1 1/2 ounces chocolate Liqueur
1 1/2 ounces cherry Vodka
Garnish
chocolate shavings

Method:
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
Strain into a chilled Martini Glass.
Sit back and dream of the Black Forest! Enjoy.

Peach Pomegranate Martini

Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces pomegranate Vodka
1 1/2 peach Vodka
1 ounce peach Schnapps
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 ounce orange juice
Garnish
cinnamon stick

Method
Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
If you want to add a little sparkle to your drink, coat the rim of your glass with cinnamon sugar.
Strain ingredients into the chilled Martini Glass and top with a single cinnamon stick.

Caramel Apple Martini

Ingredients:
2 ounces caramel Vodka
2 ounces Apple Cider
1 ounce butterscotch Schnapps
Garnish:
1 slice of apple, caramel sauce and cinnamon sugar.

Method:
Coat the rim of your Martini glass with cinnamon sugar.
Add all the ingredients into the cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously.
Strain into a chilled Martini Glass and top with a slice of fresh apple and a generous drizzle of caramel.
