When a sack of presents lands – THWACK – right by Norman’s stocking he is overcome with excitement. He really must have been a very good slug this year. But after a frenzy of unwrapping he spots a label – and realises that none of the presents were meant for him, but had in fact fallen off Father Christmas’s sleigh. Norman knows he has to get the presents to the family they’re meant for – but how can he manage it on time? Can one little slug save Christmas?
Norman The Slug Who Saved Christmas by Sue Hendra Review
A Super Slimy Hero Comes to Santa’s Rescue
Norman is a very excited slug, because Norman has been extra good for Santa this year and is dreaming about all the fantastic Christmas presents he is going to receive. Yet little does he know that one little mistake will result in the most thrilling Christmas Eve that he has ever had.
Hear what our Glass House Kids think in our Christmas Wish List Video:
When Santa accidentally drops a sack of gifts outside Norman’s home, our slimy friend thinks they are all for him – that is until he realises that they are for a different family… and that it’s up to him to save Christmas!
“I loved the way Norman re-wrapped the presents using his slime!” my 4 year old exclaimed with glee, eagerly turning the page to see the next bright and boldly illustrated page. “He’s so funny building his own sleigh and getting his snail friends to pull it,” my six year old giggled, rolling her eyes at the silliness of reindeer being replaced by snails. Eventually the gooey gang manage to deliver every last present just in time before the children wake up and come downstairs.
And Norman’s gift?
He gets to hide in a Christmas tree and transform himself from a boring slug to a shimmering bauble who saved the day!
Norman the Slug Who Saved Christmas by Sue Hendra, is a fun and colourful tale for all the family – because everyone deserves to sparkle at Christmas, even small slimy slugs!
