This Christmas, if a Fairy Godmother were to wave a magic wand and create a book that summed up my six year old daughter perfectly, it would be Tiptoe the Magic Ballet Pony from the Princess Evie’s Ponies collection by Sarah Kilbride and Sophie Tilley. A pink and glittery book straight from any little girl’s sparkling dream, this enchanting tale of a pretty little Princess and her magical pony had my daughter transfixed from the very first page.

Princess Evie has many magical ponies (other titles by publishers Simon and Schuster include Confetti the Magic Wedding Pony, Shimmer the Magic Ice Pony, Indigo the Magic Rainbow Pony among others) who transport her to mystical lands and fantastic adventures.

In this story Evie is invited to join the Sugarplum Fairy at a very special ballet recital, but poor Evie gets stage fright and becomes frozen with fear. Luckily her beautiful shimmering ballet pony Tiptoe comes to the rescue, encouraging Evie to shine and become the star of the show!

My ballet-loving six year old loved copying Evie’s pirouettes and pliés. Plus the pretty press-out Tiptoe ballet pony inside was a fantastic surprise and my daughter played with it all afternoon.
