Introducing Sofie Thomson
Last month we proudly opened the door and welcomed our first columnist, Jaquelyn Muller. Today, we lay out the welcome mat once more as we announce our latest recruit (read: victim!).
Although no stranger to The Glass House, Sofie Thomson will now feature regularly on the site, regaling us with her tales of parenting and life as she sees it.
Sofie is a Scandinavian mother living in Scotland. Her Nordic upbringing means that often her views on parenting differ from those British ways many around her hold so dear. Her take on parenting is fresh and opinionated, but always fair.
Sofie first came to us at The Glass House after our Editor put out a plea on social media for a rebuttal piece to our slightly controversial Breastfeeding article by Miss Pollyanna. With so many people offering up opposing views, Sofie was one of those voices who put pen to paper to write down her view from the other side of the fence. Since then Sofie has written a few other articles for us which you can see here on her author page.
A little background:
Sofie is a 30 year old Swedish Scot living in the highlands with her husband and two children. Her degree in Child and Youth studies helps guide her through the maze that is parenting. She is a breastfeeding peer supporter as well as an advocate of gentle parenting.
So, settle down with a cuppa and enjoy her first official column with us today.
Are we all Going Potty?
A Lesson in Social Decorum
(Note from The Editor: Not only is Sofie a regular columnist for The Glass House, she also runs her own ‘gentle parenting’ blog. Pop over to thegentlemumblog.com to read more of her musings.
