Clare Harvey was born in North Devon, and lived there until just after her seventh birthday, when her family uprooted and moved to Mauritius for two years. After living overseas, they moved back to Surrey, and then later back to Devon. After reading Law at the University of Leicester, she chose not to follow a legal path, deciding instead to do voluntary work in Tanzania. After her African adventure, she worked for an overseas charity, picked up a journalism qualification, and fell in love with a soldier.

Now settled in Nottingham, with husband, three children, a black German Shepherd dog, and a father-in-law who lives in a detached annex in the garden – she has a busy household.

Clare has published three novels, with her fourth launching in January 2019.
