Louise Beech is a prolific reader and writer. But above all, she is a popular literary talent whose novels consistantly intrigue and delight readers across the globe.
Her debut novel, How to be Brave, was released in 2015. It got to No 4 in the Amazon UK chart and was a Guardian Readers’ Pick.
Her second novel, The Mountain in my Shoe, was released in 2016 and was inspired by her time working with children in care. It has been compared to Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and was longlisted for the Guardian Not The Booker Prize.
The Lion Tamer Who Lost was released in 2018, and described by the Daily Express as ‘captivating and engrossing’.
Her latest novel – titled Call Me Star Girl, will be released in April 2019, and is already gaining many positive pre-publication reviews. It is quite a departure for Louise as she takes her first step into the world of the psychological thriller.
When Louise is not penning her next best-seller, she regularly writes travel pieces for the Hull Daily Mail, where she was a columnist for ten years. Her short fiction has won the Glass Woman Prize, the Eric Hoffer Award for Prose, and has been published in a variety of UK magazines. Louise lives with her husband and children on the outskirts of Hull and loves her day job as a Front of House Usher at Hull Truck Theatre.
